Scream 6 officially occurred, following the success of this year’s Special Screed Requel at the Box Office.
Spyglass Media Group and Paramount Pictures are confirmed on February 3, 2022 that Ghostface will return for other massacres, and the same creative team will return for the next installment.
So it was Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett directed and James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick Co-wrote scripts, while Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein and William Shraping produced and screamed Creator Kevin Williamson among executive producers.
The fifth film released the new version of Ghostface in a group of teenagers who were realized, with the trio of OG Sidney, Dewey and Gale trying to help them all survive. It is a standalone story, but that doesn’t mean it won’t have a big impact on the next film.
To get into what we can expect from Scream 6 might look like and all you need to know, we need to enter some of the main spoilers for new movies so just read if you see a shout.
Scream 6 potential release date: When could we expect Scream 6?
Scream 6 may have been confirmed officially, but we do not have a confirmed release date for new films.
According to the deadline, the sixth film is set to the film in the summer of 2022 which means we can see it landed in theaters in 2023. The fifth film was filmed from September to November 2020 and was released in January 2022.
Similar timelines the possibility of overriding the initial release of 2023, but it could mean releasing at the end of the year or most importantly it might want to hold it until January 2024 because the January slot worked very well for the fifth film.
It’s just speculation for now, so watch this room.
Scream 6 cast: Who could be back for Scream 6?
While we know that the creative team is all back, there is no official cast announcement to shout 6, but we can make some healthy speculations about who we can meet again.
For the film shouting, the fifth film leaves more life characters than you expect, so we can see some returns.
From the Trio OG, Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox can return as Sidney Prescott and Weathers Gale, but increase the glass to Dewey Riley David Arquette who was brutally killed by Ghostface.
This is not a situation where you can imagine Dewey survived the attack as he had done several times. He was broken hearted – and even with survival skills, it would be a very long shot so he survived.
In February 2022, Campbell confirmed that he had been approached about returning, but added that there was no script. “I’ll read the script and see how I feel,” he said, so it’s good.

It still makes a lot of potential returns for new films with Melissa Barrera Sam Carpenter, Jenna Ortega’s Tara Carpenter, Jasmin Savoy Mindy Meek-Martin and Mason Gooding Chad Meeks-Martin all survive from the massacre.
Chad was originally killed in the fifth film, but Gooding proved to be too charming to kill.
“He blew us. Then the conversation as he entered was,” Well we can’t kill Chad. Mason must be in other films. This person is the biggest! We will go crazy to get this charismatic person and just kill them, “explained Bettinelli-Olpin.
The new film also has a surprising cameo role for Billy Loomis Skeet Ulrich, which was revealed as Mr. Sam. He was very dead, only appeared in his bodybuilding, but it did not rule out a similar appearance in the new film.
Roger Jackson will, of course, back as a voice of Ghostface, and we can see Heather Matarazzo back as Martha Meeks after a short cameo in a new film.
Scream also confirmed that Hayden Panettiere’s Kirby Reed survived the events of Scream 4 in the Blink-and-Miss-Miss-IT moment. Can we see the return of favorite fans in potential sequels? Never rule anything.
The new film also has a sound noise from Drew Barrymore, Matthew Lillard and Jamie Kennedy, but not like their character Casey, Stu and Randy who must have died in the universe … right?
