Indian fans are eagerly waiting for the upgraded version of current Gixxer. This wait is fuelled more by the announcement which is made by Suzuki from past few years stating that it has been working on a 250cc model. This model is expected to be a made in India product with more power to its current model.

However, Suzuki has the Inazuma, a 250-cc naked model which it launched for the international market. The modified version of the bike is also brought to India but India being a price-sensitive did not welcome it well. Due to its sky-high price and uninspiring styling, Suzuki failed to impress the customers. Therefore, it has decided to launch the naked version of the 250cc bike to give a neck to neck competition to its close rival, Yamaha FZ25. Gixxer, with the current model in the market, is a well-known name. Suzuki is planning to carry on the same name for its new 250 cc bike, supposedly, Suzuki Gixxer 250.

The Suzuki 250 model is still in the R&D department, but the leaked images for the model in India have been doing rounds over the internet for some time now. The bike is expected to get a very muscular design and the styling which will be inspired by the GSX-S750 and the GSX-S1000. But due to the import taxes, the prices of these two bikes are on a hike. As the new model will be made in India model, the price will surely be comparatively low, hence, making it more ideal for Indian customers. The specifications of the bike are clouded but from the images and information from the sources, it is confirmed that the bike will be powered by a single-cylinder 250-cc engine with four valves.

In order to the keep Gixxer 250 price in India low, the liquid-cooling system will be replaced by an oil-cooling system. The engine would be able to generate power in the region of 25PS power at 8,000rpm with a peak torque of about 24 Nm at 6,500rpm. But as similar to the current Gixxer 150, the transmission could be the same 5 speed. It might also get a new 6-speed gearbox to keep the engines relaxed on highways. As the successor of the Gixxer 150, the new model might be modified to take extra power and weight. As mentioned, Suzuki Gixxer 250 will share design cues from GSX-S750 and GSX-S1000 bikes.

Continuing more with the specifications, it will have a muscular stance with LED head and tail lamps which will be coupled with all digital instrument cluster. It will get telescopic forks in the front and mono shock at the rear. The Gixxer 250 will also be offering dual channel ABS. If we count on the reports, the bike is anticipated to be priced around INR 1.4-1.5 lakhs which sounds pretty good for the Indian market. Soon we will be getting updates for the launch of the bike in India along with all the details.
